PRIVACY POLICY

// OVERVIEW

Scry (“the App”) is developed and published by Shy Guy LLC (“we”, “us”). Scry is a privacy tool, and it is built to hold itself to the standard it measures.

The short version: Scry does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, and no server that belongs to us. Everything the App does happens on your device.

// DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

• No personal information (name, email, phone, etc.)
• No device identifiers or fingerprints
• No location data
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports
• No advertising identifiers
• No account — none is required, and none can be created

// WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Your scan history, settings, chosen theme, and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device (using Apple's SwiftData and standard preferences). This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App. Scry's Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read a small local snapshot of your most recent scan through an on-device app group — it is never transmitted.

// ANALYSIS IS ON-DEVICE

Scry grades a service by reading its publicly available privacy policy. All of that reading and grading happens on your device:

• On iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence, analysis uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models.
• On every other supported device, analysis uses a deterministic, on-device reader — no AI service involved.

Scry does not send anything you scan, or anything about you, to any AI provider, cloud service, or server of ours. There is no external analysis API.

// NETWORK REQUESTS

When you scan a link that isn't in Scry's built-in database, the App fetches that website's own public pages so it can read them:

• The site's public homepage and privacy-policy page
• The site's own icon (its favicon), for display

These requests go directly from your device to the site you are scanning, over HTTPS — exactly like opening that site in a browser. As with any web request, this reveals your device's IP address to that site and nothing more. Scry tells you this and asks once before it fetches an unknown site.

Scry makes no requests to Shy Guy LLC — we have no backend — and no requests to any analytics, advertising, or third-party service. Importing an Apple App Privacy Report is handled entirely as a local file; it is never uploaded.

// CAMERA ACCESS

Scry requests camera access to scan QR codes and printed links. Camera data is processed locally in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

// PAYMENT

Scry is a one-time paid app, purchased through Apple's App Store. We never receive, process, or store any payment information — Apple handles the transaction. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

// CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Scry does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The App is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.

// CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy if the App's functionality changes. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. The effective date above reflects the latest revision.
